Rotary's Community Recognition Award for 2019 was presented to Robert and Therese Hutton at the Concert at the River on August 15th, for all their contributions to the community of Blind River!

Rotary donates scholarships for higher education to 2-4 Blind River high school students yearly - now $1000 each
The Rotary Club of Blind River often helps individuals with costs related to medical or disability issues. One such donation this spring was a battery for a wheelchair/scooter.
Successful Golf Tournament!
Thank you to everyone who supported the 29th Annual A.J. Shamus/Cecile and Gerard Menard Memorial Golf Tournament on May 25th! $1000 was donated to the All Star - EarlyON Child and Family Centre in Blind River. The rest of the proceeds will be used to support other local and international needs in 2019/2020!

2019 ongoing: The Rotary Club of Blind River is in the process of developing a welcome package that will be distributed to newcomers to the Blind River area by Rotary members. We are gathering a collection of information, offers, and items that introduce newcomers to the many amenities and services Blind River has to offer. Our goal is to start distribution later this spring. The website (www.welcomeblindriver.ca) will be expanded as the process continues.
2019 ongoing: The Rotary Club of Blind River, with the help of a matching grant from Rotary International, is donating funds for the Timber Village Museum to produce information panels for their displays. The first panels will be unveiled on May 26, 2019. The second stage will be completed in the fall.
April 20, 2019: Easter Egg Hunt - chocolate eggs donated by the Rotary Club of Blind River
April 2019: $250 donation to Ecole Secondaire Catholique Jeunesse-Nored, to assist students in attending the French culture weekend (FESFO)
March, 2019: 10 x $50 gift cards donated to the Blind River Library as prizes for their events throughout the year
March, 2019: $500 donation to the ESCJN Hockey Team to help them attend a tournament in Ottawa.
February, 2019: $250 donation to help 2 teams of young athletes attend the Manitoulin 3 on 3 Hockey Tournament
February, 2019: Rotary Club of Blind River commits to Bronze Sponsorship of Blind River Festivals
February 22, 2019: Family Day hot dog/chili fundraiser at the Curling Club on Winter Carnival weekend: over $300 raised for Rotary projects.
